I’ve recently found your pod cast from Put Down The Shovel. I’m currently reading it as my husband has had an alcohol addiction most of his life. Getting a view point from his side (from your book) is very helpful- although- I am really hoping to get more inside from your wife Shari’s perspective. I am having a really hard time with his choices and his desire to not give up alcohol even though it has torn me up mentally, physically, spiritually , emotionally & so much trust has gone. I’m in a constant state of PTSD & not knowing what to expect from him.
Please help
With more wife perspective. I’m at a loss.
Hi Sonya! I am so sorry for how addiction has impacted your life, and we thank you for listening and reading. Please keep listening. This podcast is full of the perspective of the partners of the alcoholics. You definitely deserve to live in mental, spiritual, emotional and physical peace without alcohol whether or not he wants to quit drinking. It is your choice. You can detach from the alcohol and the alcoholic. He might decide to quit drinking, or he might choose alcohol. Please keep listening and hear that message delivered from Sheri and many others.
